$146,000 Nebraska Pick 5 Jackpot for Bloomfield Woman

Peggy SchraderPeggy Schrader of Bloomfield recently won $146,000 playing Nebraska Pick 5 from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 11,500 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Monday, August 4 drawings. Among these winners was Schrader, who purchased her winning Nebraska Pick 5 ticket at Yankton Shop EZ in South Yankton. The quick pick ticket contained five plays. One play had all five of the winning numbers (12, 17, 19, 20, 27) from the August 4 drawing for the $146,000 jackpot.

Three hundred and fourteen Nebraska Lottery players have won the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot to date.

While claiming her prize on September 8, Schrader told Nebraska Lottery officials that it took some time before she realized she had won the jackpot. “I checked the numbers so I knew it was a bigger winner, but I had no idea how big until I went back to the store a week later and scanned it,” said Schrader. “It was such a surprise.” She plans to pay for some home improvements using her winnings.

Nebraska Pick 5 is Nebraska's unique Lottery game: all the proceeds from Nebraska Pick 5 stay in Nebraska, and all the winning tickets are sold in Nebraska at Nebraska Lottery Lotto game retailers. The odds of winning the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot, which starts at $50,000 and grows by $4,000 each drawing that it is not won, are 1 in 501,942. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game, which has drawings six nights a week, are 1 in 8.
