Omaha Man Wins $62,000 Playing Nebraska Pick 5

Jason GrovesJason Groves of Omaha recently won a $62,000 Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot from the Nebraska Lottery.

Groves won by matching all five numbers drawn. The winning numbers were 3, 13, 14, 17, 23. He purchased his ticket at Hy-Vee, 749 North 132nd Street in Omaha.

Groves told Lottery officials that he’s been playing the same Pick 5 numbers nearly every day for several years. He buys 30 plays at the beginning of each month. The numbers are a combination of his wife and three kids’ birthdays.

The odds of winning a Pick 5 jackpot are 1 in 501,942, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 8.
