Lincoln Woman Wins $45,000 Playing Silver 7s
Maxine Rivers of Lincoln won $45,000 playing the $5 Scratch game Silver 7s from the Nebraska Lottery.
Rivers purchased her winning Silver 7s ticket at Super C, 745 South 21st Street in Lincoln. Scratching the ticket, she revealed a winning “7” symbol with a corresponding prize of $45,000.
There are three $45,000 top prizes available in Silver 7s. Rivers is the first person to claim a top prize to date.
While claiming her prize on May 12, Rivers told Nebraska Lottery officials that she was in disbelief when she scratched off the ticket. “At first, I couldn’t believe it,” said Rivers. “Then I woke up my daughter and told her, ‘We have an emergency.’” Rivers plans to save her winnings for the future.
Silver 7s is a $5 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offers players the chance to win $1.2 million in cash prizes from $5 to $45,000. The odds of winning the top prize playing Silver 7s are 1 in 360,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.50.
