Omaha Man Wins $25,000 Playing Nebraska Pick 5

Nebraska Pick 5Alfred Gonzales of Omaha recently won $25,000 playing Nebraska Pick 5 from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 17,500 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Saturday, March 7 drawings. Among these winners was Gonzales, who purchased his winning ticket Bag ‘N Save, 5019 Grover Street in Omaha. The quick pick ticket contained all five of the winning numbers (1, 6, 9, 27, 30) from the March 7 drawing for the $50,000 jackpot. Because a second winning ticket was sold for the same drawing, Gonzales’ share of the jackpot is $25,000.

Three hundred and twenty-six Nebraska Lottery players have won the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot to date.

While claiming his prize on March 12, Gonzales told Nebraska Lottery officials that he learned he had won after checking his tickets at another retailer. “I left there feeling pretty good,” said Gonzales. He plans to pay bills and save for the future using his winnings.

Nebraska Pick 5 is Nebraska's unique Lottery game: all the proceeds from Nebraska Pick 5 stay in Nebraska, and all the winning tickets are sold in Nebraska at Nebraska Lottery Lotto game retailers. The odds of winning the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot, which starts at $50,000 and grows by $4,000 each drawing that it is not won, are 1 in 501,942. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game, which has drawings six nights a week, are 1 in 8.
