Tecumseh Man Wins $82,000 Nebraska Pick 5 Jackpot

James ParrishJames Parrish of Tecumseh recently won $82,000 playing Nebraska Pick 5 from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 50,000 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Wednesday, February 11 drawings. Among these winners was Parrish, who purchased his winning ticket at Casey’s General Store, 120 North 12th Street in Tecumseh. The two-play ticket was good for 12 draws and contained one play with all five of the winning numbers (5, 20, 22, 25, 28) from the February 11 drawing for the $82,000 jackpot.

Three hundred and twenty-three Nebraska Lottery players have won the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot to date.

While claiming his prize on February 12, Parrish told Nebraska Lottery officials that he uses family birthdays and special dates to choose his Pick 5 numbers. He learned he had won after his wife saw a post on the Nebraska Lottery’s Facebook page that said a winning ticket was sold in Tecumseh. “I was calmer about it than she was,” said Parrish. He plans to pay bills and take a trip using his winnings.

Nebraska Pick 5 is Nebraska's unique Lottery game: all the proceeds from Nebraska Pick 5 stay in Nebraska, and all the winning tickets are sold in Nebraska at Nebraska Lottery Lotto game retailers.
