Omaha Man Wins $35,000 Playing Loteria

Steven MorganSteven Morgan of Omaha won $35,000 playing the $3 Scratch game Loteria from the Nebraska Lottery.

Morgan purchased his winning Loteria ticket at Hy-Vee, 10808 Fort Street in Omaha. Scratching the ticket, he revealed matching symbols in a diagonal line for a corresponding prize of $35,000.

There were three $35,000 top prizes available in Loteria. Morgan was the third person to claim a top prize in the game.

While claiming his prize on February 10, Morgan told Nebraska Lottery officials that he has never played Scratch games before, but decided on a whim to buy a Loteria ticket. “I saw the ticket at the counter, and I thought ‘Why not?’” said Morgan. “I won $3 on the first ticket, so I bought another. Then I won $10, so I bought some more. And one of those tickets was the big winner.” Morgan plans to take a cruise using his winnings.

Loteria was a $3 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offered players the chance to win $935,700 in cash prizes from $3 to $35,000. The odds of winning the top prize were 1 in 160,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize were 1 in 3.79.
