Central City Man Wins $50,000 Playing X-Word Doubler

Clarence PowellClarence Powell of Central City won $50,000 playing the $5 Scratch game X-Word Doubler from the Nebraska Lottery.

Powell purchased his winning X-Word Doubler ticket at Casey’s General Store, 902 G Street in Central City. Scratching the ticket, he revealed 10 complete words for a corresponding prize of $50,000.

There are three $50,000 top prizes available in X-Word Doubler. Powell is the second person to claim a top prize to date.

While claiming his prize on December 12, Powell told Nebraska Lottery officials that he didn’t realize he had won the top prize at first after he scratched off the ticket. “I thought it was worth $200, and there was no way I’d won $50,000,” said Powell. “But then I wrote down all the letters to double check them.” He plans to finish construction on his home using his winnings.

X-Word Doubler is a $5 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offers players the chance to win $1.3 million in cash prizes from $5 to $50,000. The odds of winning the top prize in X-Word Doubler are 1 in 140,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.44.
