North Loup Woman Wins $40,000 Playing Lucky Stars Big Bingo

July 29, 2013 – Melinda Jorgensen of North Loup won $40,000 playing the $5 Scratch game Lucky Stars Big Bingo from the Nebraska Lottery.

Jorgensen purchased her winning Lucky Stars Big Bingo ticket at Pump & Pantry, 512 1^st Street in North Loup. Scratching the ticket, she revealed matching numbers with a corresponding prize of $40,000.

While claiming her prize on July 8, Jorgensen told Nebraska Lottery officials that she purchased her winning ticket when she stopped at Pump & Pantry to buy some coffee. “My husband won $100 on Bonus Crossword, but I wanted to try something different, so I bought a Lucky Stars Big Bingo ticket,” said Jorgensen. “At first, I thought I’d only won $4,000 instead of $40,000. I couldn’t believe it.” She plans to pay bills using her winnings.
