$45,000 Silver 7s Prize for Stamford Man

Don TegtmanDon Tegtman of Stamford won $45,000 playing the $5 Scratch game Silver 7s from the Nebraska Lottery.

Tegtman purchased his winning Silver 7s ticket at Pump & Pantry, 1616 South 2nd Avenue in Kearney. Scratching the ticket, he revealed a winning “777” tripler symbol with a corresponding prize of $1,000 in each of the 15 rows on the ticket. The “777” symbols tripled his $15,000 prize to $45,000.

There are three $45,000 top prizes available in Silver 7s. Tegtman is the second person to claim a top prize to date.

While claiming his prize on May 14, Tegtman told Nebraska Lottery officials that he was surprised to win the Silver 7s top prize. “I bought a 20X ticket and was going to buy another one, but they were out. So I switched to Silver 7s,” said Tegtman. He scratched off the ticket later at home with his wife. “I kept scratching and all 15 rows were winners. It was almost unbelievable,” said Tegtman. He plans to pay bills and save his winnings for the future.

Silver 7s is a $5 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offers players the chance to win $1.2 million in cash prizes from $5 to $45,000. The odds of winning the top prize playing Silver 7s are 1 in 180,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.50.
