Lincoln Man Wins $10,000 Playing Powerball

Neil KichristeNeil Kilchriste of Lincoln recently won $10,000 playing Powerball from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 50,000 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Wednesday, February 11 drawings. Among these winners was Kilchriste, who purchased his winning ticket at Big Bear Sinclair, 5822 Maple Street in Omaha. The five-play quick pick ticket contained one play with four of the five winning white ball numbers (11, 13, 25, 39, 54) and the Powerball number (19) from the February 11 drawing for $10,000.

Four hundred and seventy-six Nebraska Lottery players have won the $10,000 Powerball prize to date.

While claiming his prize on February 25, Kilchriste told Nebraska Lottery officials that the record $500 million Powerball jackpot motivated him to buy his winning ticket. “I was meeting some friends in Omaha and I saw the jackpot was high, so I bought a ticket,” said Kilchriste. “I put the ticket on the fridge and checked the numbers a few days later. I was only one number away from the jackpot.” He plans to pay bills using his winnings.

The odds of winning $10,000 playing Powerball are 1 in 648,975, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 31.8.
