Pilger Man Wins $30,000 Playing Fun 5s

Michael SalmonsMichael Salmons of Pilger won $30,000 playing the $5 Scratch game Fun 5s from the Nebraska Lottery.

Salmons purchased his winning Fun 5s ticket at Casey’s General Store, 1001 Veterans Avenue in Stanton. Scratching the ticket, he revealed three “BILL” symbols in Game 2 for a corresponding prize of $30,000.

There were three $30,000 top prizes available in Fun 5s. Salmons was the third person to claim a top prize in the game.

While claiming his prize on November 12, Salmons told Nebraska Lottery officials that he was “couldn’t believe it” when he realized he had won the top prize. “I had the clerk scan the ticket again just to make sure,” said Salmons. He plans to pay bills, buy a new vehicle and save for the future using his winnings.

Fun 5s was a $5 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offered players the chance to win $1.2 million in cash prizes from $5 to $30,000. The odds of winning the top prize in Fun 5s were 1 in 120,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize were 1 in 3.60.
