Lincoln Woman Wins $15,000 Playing Beat the Dealer

Cynthia FalknerCynthia Falkner of Lincoln won $15,000 playing the $2 Scratch game Beat the Dealer from the Nebraska Lottery.

Falkner purchased her winning Beat the Dealer ticket at Fast Break, 1648 South Street in Lincoln. Scratching the ticket, she revealed a card that was higher than the DEALER’S CARD for a corresponding prize of $15,000.

There are three $15,000 top prizes available in Beat the Dealer. Falkner is the first person to claim a top prize to date.

Beat the Dealer is a $2 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offers players the chance to win $465,150 in cash prizes from $2 to $15,000. The odds of winning the top prize in Beat the Dealer are 1 in 120,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.68.

While claiming her prize on July 28, Falkner told Nebraska Lottery officials that she didn’t realize immediately that she had won the top prize. “At first, I thought it wasn’t right,” said Falkner. “So I gave it to my husband and then my son to check. It was exciting.” She plans to pay bills using her winnings.
