Truck Giveaway Winner Holds the Key to New Silverado

In front of a large crowd, 10 semifinalists in the Truck$ & Buck$ Second-Chance Giveaway gathered on June 8 at Haymarket Park in Lincoln to find out who would drive away with a 2014 Chevrolet® Silverado™ 1500 Crew Cab Flex Fuel truck.

After a series of elimination rounds, two finalists remained in the giveaway drawing. Alan Schlattmann of Lincoln and a proxy representing Daniel Rasmussen of Omaha took turns selecting velvet pouches containing a key. Only one of the six keys would start the Chevrolet Silverado. Schlattmann made the first attempt to start the truck without success. Then Mr. Rasmussen’s proxy attempted to start the truck. With a cheer from the crowd the engine roared to life, confirming that Rasmussen was the Grand Prize winner.

The Truck$ & Buck$ Second-Chance Giveaway allowed players to send in $10 worth of non-winning $2 Scratch tickets for a chance to win a 2014 Chevrolet® Silverado™ 1500 Crew Cab Flex Fuel truck. Two preliminary drawings were held in March and May to select 10 semifinalists who competed in the final Grand Prize contest.

Rasmussen, the Grand Prize winner, received a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Flex Fuel truck, and a $100 gift card from the Nebraska Ethanol Board. The truck prize includes a cash payment to the winner for costs associated with ownership, and state and federal withholding paid by the Nebraska Lottery.
