Omaha Man Wins $50,000 Playing Lucky Summer ‘13 Diamonds

June 7, 2013 – Elkena Obed of Omaha won $50,000 playing the $5 Scratch game Lucky Summer ‘13 Diamonds from the Nebraska Lottery.

Obed purchased his winning Lucky Summer ‘13 Diamonds winning ticket at Quik Trip, 13007 Q Street in Omaha. Scratching the ticket, he revealed matching numbers with a corresponding prize of $50,000.

While claiming his prize on March 20, Obed told Nebraska Lottery officials that he didn’t realize he had won the $50,000 prize at first. “I thought my friends were playing a joke on me when I showed them the ticket and they said it was a winner,” said Obed. He plans to pay bills using his winnings.
