$5,000 MyDaY Prize for Lincoln Woman

April 1, 2014 – Debbie Nelson of Lincoln recently won $5,000 playing MyDaY from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 7,000 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Thursday, March 27 drawings. Among these winners was Nelson, who purchased her winning MyDaY ticket at Casey’s General Store, 4411 North 27^th Street in Lincoln. The five-play ticket was good for five drawings and contained the winning Month (12), Day (25) and Year (59) from the March 27 drawing for the $5,000 top prize.

Nelson wasted no time claiming her prize, arriving at Nebraska Lottery headquarters the day after the drawing. She learned she had won after seeing the winning numbers in the newspaper. Also seeing the numbers was Nelson’s sister, who called her shortly afterward. “My sister said, ‘Your birthday came in. Did you win?’” said Nelson. “As a joke, I told her no, I didn’t.” Nelson had no immediate plans for her prize.

Three hundred and twenty-nine Nebraska Lottery players have won the MyDaY top prize to date.

MyDaY is a Nebraska Lottery Lotto game with a calendar theme. Players can win up to $5,000 by choosing a six-digit date for each $1 MyDaY play. The odds of winning the $5,000 top prize in MyDaY are 1 in 36,525, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 8.17.
