Lincoln Woman Wins $30,000 Playing Cow Pies

Laurie Madsen March 26, 2014 – Laurie Madsen of Lincoln won $30,000 playing the $3 Scratch game Cow Pies from the Nebraska Lottery.

Madsen is a regular Scratch player who won $75,000 playing Cash Bonanza in September 2010, and $32,000 playing Larry the Cable Guy® in August 2010. She purchased her winning Cow Pies ticket at U-Stop, 3280 Superior Street in Lincoln. Scratching the ticket, she revealed a “CHOCOLATE BAR” symbol for a corresponding prize of $30,000.

There were three $30,000 top prizes available in Cow Pies. Madsen was the final person to claim a top prize, closing the game.

“I couldn’t believe it,” said Madsen.  “I had to check the ticket several times.” She plans to give her son’s car a new paint job and spend time with family using her winnings.

Cow Pies was a $3 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offered players the chance to win $934,160 in cash prizes from $3 to $30,000. The odds of winning the $30,000 top prize in Cow Pies were 1 in 160,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize were 1 in 3.56.
