Omaha Woman Wins $90,000 Playing Nebraska Pick 5

March 25, 2014 – Julia Long of Omaha recently won $90,000 playing Nebraska Pick 5 from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 42,000 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Tuesday, March 18, drawings. Long purchased her winning Nebraska Pick 5 ticket at Kum & Go, 4443 South 84^th Street in Omaha. The five-play quick pick ticket contained one play with all five of the winning numbers (11, 12, 15, 25, 37) from the March 18 drawing for the $90,000 jackpot.

Three hundred two Nebraska Lottery players have won the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot to date.

While claiming her prize March 19, Long told Nebraska Lottery officials this was her first time purchasing Lotto tickets. “My boyfriend said I should buy one, so I did,” said Long. “The clerk told me to come back the next day to check my ticket. I was so surprised when they said I’d won the jackpot.” She plans to use her winnings for college expenses and other bills.

The odds of winning the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot, which starts at $50,000 and grows by $4,000 each drawing that it is not won, are 1 in 501,942. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game, which has drawings six nights a week, are 1 in 8.
