June 29, 2012 – Mark Larson of Omaha recently won a total of $20,004 playing Mega Millions with Megaplier from the Nebraska Lottery.
There were more than 10,000 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Tuesday, June 19 drawings. Among these winners was Larson, who purchased his winning Mega Millions with Megaplier ticket at Rite Way 66 Service, 4334 South 84th Street in Omaha. The five-play ticket contained one play with four of the five winning white ball numbers (11, 21, 27, 30, 53) and the Mega Ball® number (11) for a $10,000 prize. A second play on the ticket matched the winning Mega Ball number for an additional $2.
Because Larson added the $1 Megaplier option to his purchase, his $10,002 prize was multiplied by the 2X multiplier for $20,004.
Mega Millions is a multi-state jackpot game currently offered by 44 lotteries across the United States. The odds of winning $10,000 playing Mega Millions are 1 in 689,065. Adding the $1 Megaplier option, which does not affect the odds of winning, gives players a chance at multiplying their non-jackpot prizes two, three, or four times. The overall odds of winning any Mega Millions prize are 1 in 40.
