June 20, 2012 – Yvonne Larsen of Randolph won $50,000 playing the $5 Scratch game Grills Gone Wild from the Nebraska Lottery.

Larsen purchased her winning Grills Gone Wild ticket at Jim’s Food Center, 105 East Broadway in Randolph. Scratching the ticket, she revealed matching numbers with a corresponding prize of $50,000.

There are three $50,000 top prizes available in Grills Gone Wild. Larsen is the first person to claim a top prize to date.

While claiming her prize on June 8, Larsen told Nebraska Lottery officials that she was surprised to realize that she had won the top prize. “I was sitting in the car when I scratched it off, and when I saw the $50,000 I said, ‘Whoa.’” She plans to remodel her home using her winnings.

Grills Gone Wild is a $5 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offers player the chance to win $1.1 million in cash prizes from $5 to $50,000. The odds of winning the $50,000 top prize in Grills Gone Wild are 1 in 110,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.64.
