Cedar Rapids Woman Wins $50,000 Super Crossword Prize

November 17, 2009 – Renate Langan of Cedar Rapids won $50,000 playing the $5 Scratch game Super Crossword from the Nebraska Lottery.

Langan purchased her winning Super Crossword ticket at Bethscheider's Market, 212 Main Street in Cedar Rapids. The ticket contained 10 complete words in the crossword puzzle for the $50,000 top prize.

There are three top prizes available in Super Crossword. Langan is the second person to claim a Super Crossword top prize to date. She plans to save for retirement using her winnings.

Super Crossword is a $5 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offers players the chance to win $1,226,000 in cash prizes from $5 to $50,000. The odds of winning the $50,000 top prize in Super Crossword are 1 in 240,000 while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.24.
